    Operation Catnip - University of Florida

    If you are an Alachua County resident, then you have
    access to one of the best trap-neuter-return
    programs in the country!

    Operantion Catnip is a non-profit organization
    dedicated to humanely reducing the stray and feral
    cat population through a no-cost Trap-Neuter-Return
    program.

    Here is some basic information on the program:

    WHAT OPERATION CATNIP DOES:

  • Sterilize feral and unfriendly stray cats
  • Provide routine vaccinations at the time of surgery
  • Permanently crop the left ears of sterilized cats
  • Lend out traps and crates for transportation to the
    clinic

    OPERATION CATNIP DOES NOT DO:

  • Sterilize owned pets or strays adopted by the finder
  • Accept cats for adoption
  • Relocate cats
  • Participate in cat trapping for euthanasia
  • Participate in cat trapping for release to animal
    shelters
